A strategic finance leader specializing in acquisitions, trade sales, equity investments, and joint ventures, Simon is charged with developing the finance function at GeoSpock. His work continues to prepare the business for future rounds of funding and expansion.
Drawing on extensive experience from a range of industries including: biotech, healthcare, pharma, telecoms, green-tech, and financial services – Simon spent eight years in business development at General Electric. There, he worked on numerous cross-border M&A and joint venture transactions, developing extensive international experience across the USA, Europe, Russia, China, and the Middle East, on deals worth a total of more than $2 billion.
An enthusiastic supporter of innovation, Simon has worked to support SMEs in Cambridge. He has helped a number of smaller businesses grow and acquire funding, and was instrumental in raising £31.5 million for Inivata Ltd, a Cambridge biotech company.
Simon holds a BSC in Natural Sciences from the University of Durham, an MSc in Manufacturing Management from the University of Bradford, and an Executive MBA from the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. He also holds a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and is a member of the Finance and Tax Advisory Committee of the UK Bio Industry Association.
