After facing intense competition from 13 leading startups, GeoSpock wins the Festival of Media "emerge Startup of the Year" pitch-off 2017.
Festival of Media's 'emerge' programme is an annual event, providing a platform for the globe’s hottest MadTech start-ups to showcase their products to the world’s most senior (and biggest spending) figures in the international advertising sector. Start-ups chosen to be part of the programme have the opportunity to pitch directly to hundreds of c-suite attendees.
The pitch-off took place over two rounds starting on Monday with the top three vote-getters going head to head on Tuesday afternoon.
In the first round, GeoSpock faced off against some impressive competition including AdSpruce, B!play, DoublX, GetSocial, indaHash, PayPer, paytime, people.io, TRIBE, TVSquared, Upday, Verticly and wayve.
However, when the smoke finally cleared, the only three left standing were GeoSpock, AdSpruce and GetSocial.
Tuesday's pitch-off took place in the main networking area during the lunch break. Unfortunately, all the teams suffered technical glitches, but the problems only served to make the competition more exciting that usual.
In the end, it was Andy Smith, GeoSpock's Head of Sales, who took the trophy. Well done Andy!
